Finding an attendee
Almost everything you do at the desk starts by pulling up an attendee. Once you are signed in, the scan and search bar sits at the top of the screen. There are three ways to find someone.
Scan their ticket
Section titled “Scan their ticket”Scan the barcode or QR code on the attendee’s ticket, whether it is printed or on their phone. Their record opens straight away.
Tap their NFC badge
Section titled “Tap their NFC badge”If your desk has an NFCA short-range wireless chip that can be built into a badge and read by tapping it on a reader. EventDrake can write an attendee's details onto the chip during check-in. What gets written is set by an NFC template. reader and NFC scanning is turned on, tap the attendee’s badge on the reader to pull up their record. This looks them up only, it does not check them in. Turn scanning on with the NFC button on the search bar. If the badge is not one of yours, you see a “Card not recognised” message.
Type to search
Section titled “Type to search”Type into the search bar to look someone up. You do not need the whole value: search matches on part of it, and ignores capitalisation. It looks across:
- Badge name
- Legal name (the attendee’s full name)
- Email (the email on their account)
- Badge number
Enter at least two characters. A shorter, more distinctive fragment often works best, for example part of a surname.
Scan a ticket, tap an NFC badge, or type a name, email, or badge number. Matches open the attendee’s record.
When more than one person matches
Section titled “When more than one person matches”If your search matches several people, a Search Results window opens listing them, with a count of how many matched. Check the details and press Select next to the right person to open their record. When only one person is an exact match, this window is skipped and their record opens directly.
After you find someone
Section titled “After you find someone”Their ticket opens. For what you see on it and what you can do from there, see The attendee’s ticket. To check them in, see Check someone in.
