Working at an event

The operations area is the on-site side of EventDrake. Staff and operatorsA staff member or volunteer running a station on the day. Operators usually sign in with a temporary session rather than a full admin account, and only see the tools their station needs. use it at the event to check people in, hand over merch, and keep the door moving. It is separate from the admin area, where the event is set up beforehand. You do not need to know how the event was built to work a desk.

You work from a terminalA physical device running EventDrake's on-site software, such as a check-in tablet or a countertop unit. A terminal can have hardware attached, for example a badge printer, a receipt printer, or an NFC reader. Terminals are registered once, then paired to a station at the start of a shift. at your desk, or from a mobile device.

Getting set up takes a minute at the start of your shift. It goes in order:

  1. Sign in and choose your event. Sign in to the terminal and pick the event you are working.
  2. Set up your station. Tell the terminal what kind of desk this is, and which printer it uses.
  3. Start working. The scan and search bar appears at the top. Find an attendee to begin.

Once you are set up, you work from one screen:

  • A toolbar across the top, with the scan and search bar in the middle.
  • A navigation panel for the tools your desk uses.
  • The main area, where an attendee’s ticket and your task open.
