Users & access
The Users & access area is where you manage the people who can sign in to your site and what they can do. It is a site-wide area, and only administrators can open it.
Accounts and roles
Section titled “Accounts and roles”Two ideas run through this section:
- An account is one person’s login: their email, profile, and sign-in details. Most accounts belong to attendees who sign up themselves. You can also invite people directly, which is common when public sign-up is turned off.
- A roleAn area of access you grant to a person, such as running registration or editing your website. Roles are built in: each one opens a set part of the product. You grant roles to people, and remove them to take access away, but you do not configure what a role can do. A role is either global (applying across your whole site) or event-specific (granted for one event). is an area of access you grant to a person, such as running registration or editing your website. Roles are built in; each one opens a set part of the product. You give people roles, and you do not configure what a role can do.
Grant someone a role and they gain that area of access. Remove it and they lose it.
