Custom domains
By default your site is reached at an address EventDrake provides. You can connect your own web address (a custom domain) so your site loads there instead, and so email is sent from your own domain.
Your domains, with their verification status.
Add a domain
Section titled “Add a domain”- Select Add domain and enter your domain, for example
example.com. - Choose who manages the DNS records:
- EventDrake: you point your domain’s nameservers at EventDrake, and EventDrake keeps the records up to date for you. This also lets you add and manage your own records here; see DNS records.
- Custom: you add the required records yourself at your domain provider.
- Save. The domain opens its verification page.
You can connect up to eight custom domains.
Verify your domain
Section titled “Verify your domain”Opening a domain shows its status and the DNS records to set. EventDrake checks the domain automatically and rechecks every minute; you can also select Refresh or Verify to check again.
Depending on how you use the domain, verification covers:
- Ownership: a record proving the domain is yours.
- DNS and nameservers: that the domain points the right way.
- Certificate: the secure-connection certificate for your web address.
- Email: the records that let your site send email from the domain.
Add each record shown at your domain provider. Verification finishes once the records are in place and have taken effect, which can take a little time.
Use a domain for web, email, or both
Section titled “Use a domain for web, email, or both”Each domain has separate Web and Email switches, so you can use it for your website, for sending email, or both. When email is on, you can set a custom sending subdomain.
Remove a domain
Section titled “Remove a domain”Removing a domain deletes its settings and stops your site using it. The address EventDrake provides always keeps working.
