Saved bookings

A saved bookingA person's full registration details saved in advance rather than submitted, optionally with a saved card or a held payment. It is used three ways. Pre-Fill: before registration opens, people enter their details in advance (and, close to opening, hold their payment) so they can submit the moment tickets go on sale. Waitlist: after a booking type sells out, people leave their details (optionally with a card) so you can offer them a place if one frees up. Saved for later: while registration is open, a person saves their booking to finish later. You can work through pre-fill and waitlist queues from the admin area. is a person’s registration details saved before they have actually booked, so they are ready to complete the moment they can. Saved bookings cover three situations:

  • Pre-fill: before tickets go on sale, people enter their details in advance so they can submit the instant sales open. Best for high-demand launches.
  • Waitlist: after a booking type sells out, people leave their details so you can offer them a place if one frees up.
  • Saved for later: while registration is open, a person saves their booking to finish later. This also happens when someone is interrupted partway through, for example if their payment fails or they do not finish the steps on a third-party payment page.
Registration → Prefill / Waitlist

The overview shows how many saved bookings sit in each situation, filterable by booking type, and marks which situation is active for your event right now.

You work through saved bookings from Registration → Prefill / Waitlist. The overview groups them into pre-fill, saved-for-later, and waitlist, with a count for each. Because an event moves through these stages, it marks the one that is active now (pre-fill before sales open, saved-for-later while open, waitlist once sold out), so you can see where your attention belongs.

The waitlist is held as a queue, ordered by when each person joined, so when a place frees up you can offer it to the people who registered their interest first.

Pre-fill and saved-for-later work differently: people normally submit their own saved booking through the main registration page when they are ready, so you do not usually work through those as a queue.

A saved booking can carry payment set up in advance, so nothing has to be re-entered when it converts to a real order:

  • a payment hold on the person’s card (most common with pre-fill), or
  • a saved card they have kept on file (common with the waitlist).

How each is used differs between pre-fill and waitlist, and is covered on those pages.

Pre-fill and waitlist are each switched on in Settings. With them off, the options do not appear to attendees and this area stays empty.
