Products

A product is one item you sell, such as a t-shirt or a print. Products are set up once for your whole site, so the same item can be offered across events, and shown in the store organised into groups.

Merch → Products → New Product

A product’s settings are grouped into tabs: General, Configuration, Sizes, and Questions.

To add an item you need a title, a price, and an image. The rest of this page covers each tab.

  • Title and Description: the name and details shoppers see. The description supports Markdown.
  • Image: the product picture. How it is cropped and shaped in the store is set once for your event in Settings, not here, so all products look consistent.
  • Groups: the groups this product appears under in the store. A product can sit in more than one.
  • Price: what it costs. A size can override this (see below).
  • Visible and Sort Order: whether it shows in the store, and where it sits.
  • Enable shipping and shipping price: allow this item to be shipped, and set a price for shipping it. This works alongside your event’s shipping settings.
  • Total inventory and available inventory: how many you have and how many are left. Leave empty for unlimited stock.
  • Require event ticket: restrict buying this product to people who hold a ticket to the events you choose. Leave empty to let anyone buy it.
  • Visible for events: limit which events this product shows up for. Leave empty to show it everywhere.

Sizes are how a product offers variants. If a product has no sizes, it is sold as a single item; add sizes when the same item comes in options like Small, Medium, and Large.

Each size has:

  • A label, such as “Large”, and a visible to customers switch.
  • An optional price that overrides the product price for that size, for when one size costs more. Leave it empty to use the product price.
  • An optional image for that size.
  • Track inventory separately for this size: turn this on to give the size its own stock count, so you can sell out of Large while Small is still available. Left off, the sizes draw on the product’s overall stock.
  • Its own questions, if a particular size needs to ask something extra.

A product can ask its own questions at purchase, such as a name for personalisation or a colour choice. These work like ticket questions but are attached to the product. Sizes can carry their own questions too, for anything specific to one size.
