Content blocks

A content blockA small piece of content you add into a fixed spot on one of EventDrake's built-in pages, such as a note above the registration form or an image in the footer. You fill the spots EventDrake provides rather than creating new ones. A block can be set once for the whole site and overridden for a single event where needed. lets you add your own words or an image into a fixed spot on one of EventDrake’s built-in pages, such as a welcome note above the registration form or a message on the payment page. You fill the spots EventDrake provides; you cannot create new ones.

Blocks are grouped by where they show up:

  • Page layout: the top and bottom of your homepage, the space below your event listings, and a column in your footer.
  • Payments: notes on the payment pages for new orders and for saved reservations.
  • Registration: messages at each step of the registration form, from choosing a ticket through to the confirmation and completion screens.
  • Sign in: notes at the top of the login, register, and forgotten-password pages.

If a block is empty or turned off, nothing shows in that spot.

The blocks list, with a Global column and a column for the event you select.

Each block can be set once for your whole site (the Global column) and, where you need it, overridden for a single event.

  • A global block applies to every event that does not override it.
  • An event block replaces the global one for that event only. When you create an event override, you can start from a copy of the global block.
  • Removing an event block is labelled Revert to Global: the event goes back to using the site-wide block.

Open a block to edit it:

  1. Turn the block on.
  2. Choose a content type: Markdown for formatted text, or Image for a single picture.
  3. For Markdown, write your content. For an image, pick a file and choose how it fits its space.
  4. Save. A preview shows the block as you edit.
