Groups

A group organises your products into sections in the store, such as “Apparel” or “Prints”. Groups are about presentation: they decide how the store is divided up, not what anything costs or which items go together as a bundle. A product chooses the groups it belongs to, and can sit in more than one.

Merch → Groups → New Group

A group has its general details and its appearance, on two tabs.

  • Title and Description: the section heading and any blurb shoppers see. The description supports Markdown.
  • Visible and Sort Order: whether the section shows, and where it sits among your groups.
  • Visible for events: limit which events this group shows up for. Leave empty to show it everywhere.
  • Banner images: an optional banner for the section, in a tall and a wide version so it fits different layouts.
  • Image shape and image format: override how product images look inside this group. Left empty, the group uses your event’s default image settings; set them here when one section needs a different look, for example wide banners for prints but square tiles for pins.

Groups define the sections; your event’s store layout setting decides how those sections are shown, as a list of sections, tabs, a denser list, or a single grid. Set the layout once in Settings, and every group follows it.
