Files
The file manager is where you upload and organise the images and documents used across your site, such as logos, banners, page images, and downloads.
Media and internal files
Section titled “Media and internal files”The file manager, with Media and Internal tabs, a folder view, and a details panel.
Files are split into two areas:
- Media files are public. Use this for anything shown on your site, such as images on pages and in themes.
- Internal files are used by the platform for things end users never see directly, such as badge templates, fonts, and reports. Use it for assets and sensitive documents that should not be served openly.
Folders
Section titled “Folders”Organise files into folders:
- Create a folder with New folder, then open it to upload into it.
- Move between folders using the breadcrumb trail at the top.
- A folder can only be deleted once it is empty.
Each event also appears as a folder, named by its URL keyThe short, web-friendly name that sets where something lives in a web address, made of lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. Each event has a URL key: an event with the URL key summercamp appears at example.com/summercamp. URL keys are used across EventDrake wherever something needs a stable, readable address., even before you have added anything to it. We recommend keeping each event’s assets inside its own folder: it keeps things tidy, and makes an event easy to browse or archive later.
Working with files
Section titled “Working with files”Select a file to see its details, including its full path, size, type, and a preview.
- Upload adds new files to the current folder.
- Rename changes a file’s name; EventDrake warns you if the name is already taken.
- Move puts a file in another folder. Files above 10 MB cannot be moved.
- Download saves a copy, and Delete removes it.
Using a file elsewhere
Section titled “Using a file elsewhere”Throughout the admin, wherever you set an image (a theme icon, a block image, your logo or banner) you pick it from your files. Each file is identified by its path, shown in the details panel if you ever need to copy it.
For the images your site uses and how to size them, see Image assets.
