Receipt printers
A receipt printerA printer for narrow paper receipts and merch picklists, usually connected over a serial USB link. Unlike a badge printer it must be configured before use, including its paper width and how it cuts. prints narrow paper receipts and merch picklistsA printed list of the merch an attendee has ordered, used at the merch table to gather and hand over the right items. A picklist can print automatically when an attendee is sent to the merch queue.. Unlike a badge printer it is not detected automatically: you add and configure it by hand.
Supported printers
Section titled “Supported printers”Any receipt printer that speaks the standard ESC/POS protocol works, whether it connects over serial, USB-serial, or the network.
Configure the printer
Section titled “Configure the printer”Set how the printer connects and prints: its paper width (as a number of columns), whether it cuts automatically between jobs, and, for a serial connection, the serial settings (baud rate, parity, stop bits, and data bits). These must match the printer, so check its manual if you are unsure.
What it prints
Section titled “What it prints”Receipt printers are used for:
- Point-of-sale receipts. Tax receipts for payments taken at a desk.
- Printed tickets. A printed copy handed to an attendee, useful for things like addons that need proof of entry.
- Merch picklists. For internal use at the merch table, listing what to gather for each attendee. See Merch pickup.
