Creating a voucher

Creating a voucherA code a customer enters at checkout to get a discount on specific items, or to unlock an item that is otherwise unavailable to them. A voucher applies to the booking types, add-ons, or merch you choose, not to the whole order. It can be a single shared code or a set of unique single-use codes. has two parts: the basics on this page (its code, dates, and how it can be used), and the discounts it gives, covered in Discounts and unlocks. You set both up in the same editor before saving.

Orders → Vouchers → New Voucher

The voucher editor, with tabs for the general details, the discounts, and (for individual codes) the generated codes.

  1. From Orders → Vouchers, choose New Voucher.
  2. Set the code. A code is generated for you, which you can replace with your own. Codes are letters and numbers only, and are what customers type at checkout, so make a shared code easy to read and pass on.
  3. Add a label. This is for your own reference in the admin and is not shown to customers.
  4. Set Available from and Available to. The voucher only works between these dates. They default to today and your event’s end date.
  5. Choose how it can be used (see below).
  6. Add the discounts it gives on the Discounts tab.
  7. Leave Enabled on to make it usable, then create the voucher.

The Usage mode decides how the voucher can be redeemed:

  • Reusable: one shared code with no usage limit.
  • Limited use: one shared code with a cap. Set the Quantity total, the number of times it can be used in total, after which it stops working.
  • Individual codes: a batch of unique single-use codes you generate after saving. See Individual codes.

To make a voucher similar to one you already have, use Duplicate on the voucher in the list. This opens the editor pre-filled with a copy of its settings and a fresh code, ready for you to adjust and save.

Select a voucher from the list to edit it. You can change its label, dates, usage settings, discounts, and enabled state at any time. Only the code is fixed, but you can still select it or use its copy button to share it. You can also copy a code straight from the voucher list by clicking it.
