Homepage
Your homepage is the first thing visitors see when they arrive at your site’s web address. What they see depends on how many events you are running and what you have set up.
What visitors see
Section titled “What visitors see”EventDrake decides your front page in this order:
- You have built a homepage layout. Visitors see your homepage: the event groups you arrange below, whatever number of events you run.
- You have not built a homepage layout, and one event is active. That event becomes your front page automatically. Visitors see the event’s own home page if it has one, or go straight to its registration form if it does not.
- You have not built a homepage layout, and several events are active. Visitors see a default homepage that lists your active events.
Building your homepage layout
Section titled “Building your homepage layout”Website / CMS → Homepage
The homepage layout editor, with a live preview on one side and group settings on the other.
Your homepage is made of event groups. Each group shows a chosen set of events in a layout you pick. Add as many groups as you need and order them down the page.
To add an event group:
- Select Add group.
- Give the group a label (this shows as a heading on your homepage) and an optional description.
- Choose a display mode and which events the group shows.
- Save. The preview updates as you work.
Group settings
Section titled “Group settings”- Label and description name and introduce the group on your homepage.
- Display mode sets how the events look: Single (one featured event), Carousel (a scrolling row), or Cards (a grid).
- Width sets how much of the row the group takes, on a twelve-column grid. A width of 12 fills the row, 6 is half (two groups side by side), 4 is a third (three across), and 3 is a quarter (four across).
- Events choose which events appear. Single mode shows one event; the other modes let you pick several.
- Limit events narrows a group automatically to upcoming, current, or past events, instead of naming each one.
Order groups with the up and down arrows, and turn any group off to hide it without deleting it.
