NFC readers
An NFCA short-range wireless chip that can be built into a badge and read by tapping it on a reader. EventDrake can write an attendee's details onto the chip during check-in. What gets written is set by an NFC template. reader writes an attendee’s details onto the chip in their badge as they check in. Readers are detected and enabled automatically, so there is usually nothing to turn on.
Supported readers
Section titled “Supported readers”Our standard readers are the ACR1252 and the ACR122. Any NFC reader with reliable Linux support should also work.
Mobile NFC
Section titled “Mobile NFC”A supported mobile browser can write to a badge chip directly using its built-in NFC, with no external reader. This suits a roaming operator or a low-hardware setup. See the browser’s own NFC support for which devices work.
What gets written
Section titled “What gets written”What is written to the chip is set by an NFC templateThe setup that decides what is written to a badge's NFC chip during check-in, such as the attendee's details or a link. NFC templates are created separately; check-in uses them to write the right data to each badge., not by the reader. See NFC templates.
