Custom Pages

A custom pageA content page you write yourself and publish on your site, such as an About, venue, or privacy page, each at its own web address. Custom pages are separate from the pages EventDrake builds for you, such as registration or the homepage. A site-wide page sits at the top level (example.com/about); an event page sits under its event (example.com/summercamp/venue). is a content page you write yourself, such as an About page, a venue guide, or a privacy notice. Each page has its own web address on your site.

Custom pages come in two scopes:

  • Site-wide pages sit at the top level of your site, for example example.com/about. A site-wide page uses a single-word address.
  • Event pages sit under one event, using the event’s URL keyThe short, web-friendly name that sets where something lives in a web address, made of lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. Each event has a URL key: an event with the URL key summercamp appears at example.com/summercamp. URL keys are used across EventDrake wherever something needs a stable, readable address., for example example.com/summercamp/venue. An event page can use a longer address of up to three parts, such as venue/map.

You create both the same way. You choose the scope by whether you open Custom Pages from the site-wide area or from within an event.

Website / CMS → Custom Pages → New page

The page editor, with Content, Settings, and Style tabs and a live preview below.

  1. Select New page.
  2. Set the address (the part after your domain) and a title.
  3. Choose a page type and write your content.
  4. Save, then use View on site to see the published page.
  • Markdown lets you write formatted text using simple, readable formatting. This suits most pages.
  • HTML lets you paste raw HTML when you need full control of the layout.
  • Redirect sends visitors straight to another address instead of showing content. Set the redirect target to an address on your site (/about) or an external link.

On the Settings tab:

  • Visible to the public publishes the page. Turn it off to hide a page without deleting it.
  • Meta description is the short summary shown in search results and link previews.

On the Style tab:

  • Full width removes the usual page margins.
  • Hide header and Hide footer drop the site’s menus from this page, useful for a standalone landing page.
  • Custom CSS applies your own styling to this page only.

As you edit a Markdown or HTML page, a live preview below the editor shows how it will look. Redirect pages have no preview.
